 A legacy is something that someone leaves behind that affects the lives of others. ​It can affect one person or it can affect a large number of people. In this image, the daughter of a musician plays his guitar and thinking about him as she writes a song. This image shows the legacy that the father left behind and the influence it had on his daughter, who is now creating something for the world and leaving behind a legacy of her own.

The guitar held by the daughter and the guitar in the picture of her father are the same in order to show the connection between the woman writing the song and the man in the picture frame. The girl writing a song is sitting in a rocking chair and surrounded by older antiques in the image to show her connection to the memories of her father and impact he had on her. The woman is writing her own song and leaving her own legacy behind. Influenced by her fathers legacy, she writes and rewrites a song that she wants to have an affect on the world. The crumpled up papers are her attempts at writing a song, and she is looking at the words written on the pad of paper deep in thought as she thinks about her song's impact on the rest of the world.
